Cornelis Networks is hiring a Manager of Architecture—a senior leader, overseeing a highly skilled team of architects responsible for defining the technical vision and system-level design of our next-generation networking products. Working closely with the CTO to guide strategic technical direction, the Manager of Architecture will orchestrate cross-functional efforts—collaborating with marketing, competitive analysis, product management, and engineering teams—to ensure our solutions meet exacting performance, scalability, and feature requirements for the AI and HPC markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Architecture Leadership
- Technical Vision Implementation:
- Collaborate with the CTO to refine and implement long-term architectural roadmaps
- Drive forward-looking architecture for upcoming CN7000 1.6T switches and Host Fabric Interfaces
- Develop comprehensive multi-protocol strategies spanning Omni-Path, Ultra Ethernet, Converged Ethernet, and Ultra Accelerator Link
- Align architectural plans with strategic direction and evolving AI/HPC workload requirements
- System-Level Architecture:
- Lead development of system architecture specifications and documentation
- Drive architectural coherence across hardware and software domains
- Establish architectural governance processes and design principles
- Ensure architectural integrity through product lifecycles
Technical Innovation & Direction
- Advanced Feature Development:
- Guide architectural decisions for RISC-V-based acceleration engines
- Drive hardware security architecture and implementation approaches
- Lead AI/ML optimization strategies across the product portfolio
- Oversee modular system design including NoC, fabric accelerators, and protocol stacks
- Technical Oversight:
- Conduct rigorous architecture reviews and risk assessments
- Validate architectural approaches against performance and scalability requirements
- Guide trade-off decisions balancing performance, cost, and time-to-market
- Ensure technical feasibility of architectural proposals
Ecosystem & Technology Strategy
- Industry Leadership:
- Evaluate emerging networking technologies and standards
- Analyze competitive architectures and technology approaches
- Identify strategic technology partnerships
- Position architectural innovations within industry context
- Future Technology Planning:
- Identify disruptive technologies with potential architectural impact
- Develop strategies for technology adoption and integration
- Lead architectural research initiatives for long-term differentiation
- Create technology roadmaps aligned with company strategy
Team Leadership & Development
- Architectural Team Management:
- Recruit, develop, and retain top architectural talent
- Foster a culture of technical excellence and innovation
- Establish best practices for architectural development and documentation
- Build collaborative relationships across hardware and software teams
- Resource Management:
- Prioritize architectural initiatives across current and future products
- Manage resource allocation to meet critical architectural milestones
- Drive on-time delivery of architecture deliverables
- Balance resources across CN5000/6000 and future CN7000 needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Executive Partnership:
- Partner with the CTO on strategic technical direction
- Contribute to executive and board-level technical discussions
- Represent architecture in strategic planning discussions
- Communicate architectural value and differentiation
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work with Product Management to translate market requirements into architectural features
- Partner with Marketing on architectural positioning and differentiation
- Collaborate with Competitive Analysis to address emerging threats
- Engage with select strategic customers on advanced technical requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Ethernet, InfiniBand, or proprietary fabric architectures
- Background in ASIC or system architecture
- Understanding of RISC-V architecture and applications
- Knowledge of AI/ML workload requirements
- Experience with protocol acceleration techniques
- Track record of successful product architectures
- History of industry thought leadership
Minimum Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in networking architecture or related fields
- Proven track record developing complex system architectures
- Deep expertise in networking protocols and technologies
- Experience with high-performance computing and/or AI infrastructure
- Strong leadership skills with ability to guide senior technical staff
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication skills across technical and business domains
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field; Master’s/PhD preferred
Location: This is a remote position for employees residing within the United States.

At Cornelis Networks your base salary is only one component of your comprehensive total rewards package. Your base pay will be determined by factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and location relative to the hiring range for the position. Depending on your role, you may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, including an annual bonus or sales incentives.
