The Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) plays a critical role in developing advanced long-range technology in collaboration with product divisions and strategic marketing, working on future technology like light sources, lasers, and sensors. We are engaged in the research and development process, and once the technology is mature, we partner with product engineering groups who then build products based on the technology we’ve developed. The Office of the CTO also provides technical input into KLA’s strategic planning process, program reviews and Product Life Cycle (PLC) phases. We provide our broad technology expertise and cross-division experience to ensure we leverage the collective knowledge within our company.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
This is a R&D position within a dynamic and innovative technology development team, focusing on developing novel, low-noise, high-speed image sensors for next generations of wafer inspection and metrology equipment. As a member of the cutting-edge sensor R&D team, the ideal candidate will design, bring up and validate the high-speed circuit boards to characterize TDI CCD/CMOS image sensor.
Work closely with scientists in CTO US to gain deep understanding of technology and engineering challenges of PCB circuit used for low-noise, high-speed image sensor systems.
Propose and develop new test boards, low noise analog circuits to meet with the requirements of advanced image sensor for metrology application, including schematic capture and PCB design.
Simulate and optimize developed electrical system to meet low noise, signal integrity requirements.
Design and execute the test plan to verify the developed electrical PCBA/system to make sure it meets the design specifications.
Collaborate with research scientist, sensor designer and characterization expert to develop the sensor characterization solution and ensure flawless integration test at the subsystem and/or system level.
Work closely with and manage suppliers to ensure all design requirements are specified and achieved.
Requirements:
Master or Doctorate degree in electrical engineering or related with at least 5 years of relevant experience
Proven track record in electronic circuit and hardware design including signal integrity, power integrity, low noise mixed signal circuit design, PCB layout, circuit board debug and validation.
Experience with digital signal processing and communication interface like Ethernet, PCIe and serial port/UART is preferred.
Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout tools, such as OrCAD, Altium Designer.
Experience in FPGA RTL design with HDL is a plus.
Hands on experience with lab equipment like logic analyzer, oscilloscope, power supply etc.
Team player with good communication skills.
