Cirrus Logic have a fantastic opportunity for an EMC Engineer based in our state-of-the-art Edinburgh office. You will be responsible for all aspects of Integrated Circuit EMC including board/chip level simulation, test development and silicon validation. You will work in a dynamic environment and be part of a collaborative team contributing towards improvements in design and test methodology across all product lines. 

Responsibilities:

    • Work in conjunction with IC design teams to optimize IC RF immunity and emissions.
    • Provide simulation expertise for new ASIC and packaging technologies.
    • Develop test procedures and measurement of IC RF emissions and susceptibility to IEC61967, IEC62132, CISPR32, and CISPR25.
    • Works with lab tools such as TEM cells, stripline jigs and immunity surface scan.
    • Design of EMC PCBs, incorporating test IC and support circuitry for optimised RF/EMC
    • Provides technical expertise in subject area to support customer facing documentation.
    • Visit customers when necessary to provide face-to-face support.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Proven background in EMC of Integrated Circuits and EMC validation testing.
    • Familiarity with Automotive EMC standards and procedures.
    • Strong hands-on experience conducting EMC tests.
    • Understanding of the potential impact of Electromagnetic Interference on ICs in a system and from ICs on EMC compliance.
    • Programming languages such as Python or LabView.
    • PCB design and schematic creation.
    • Must be a self-starter and highly motivated.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills required.
    • Degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering or equivalent disciplines with relevant experience in EMC for Integrated Circuits

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of simulation software such as ADS and/or HyperLynx.
    • Understanding of portable consumer product design, both analogue and digital aspects. 
    • Understanding of EMC testing to IEC61967, IEC62132 and/or CISP32 & CISPR25. 
    • Experience working with ESD simulator equipment, amplifiers used for RF immunity testing, network analysers, spectrum analysers, GSM testers like CMU200.
    • SMT hand soldering experience.

This position is located in Edinburgh, UK

This is a hybrid remote position and will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
