Position: Staff Engineer, Product Line Management (San Jose, CA)
Duties:
- Oversee Automotive Power Products, market segment selection and product definition through market analysis and rigorous business plans.
- Focus on new product definition and market analysis for Power Management products in the Automotive market.
- Identify, evaluate and recommend marketing opportunities consistent with product line objectives thereby maximizing return on investment.
- Provide product consultation to field personnel and customers about new and existing products, ensuring the beneficiary will build critical long-term relationships with key customer accounts to drive new design wins.
- Utilize extensive expertise to creatively solve customer’s difficult power management problems; and perform power architecture breakthroughs thereby creating sustained value propositions.
- Perform detailed market analysis through identifying market trends, defining target market segment and applications, and conducting competitive analysis.
- Maintain current status of customer/system requirements for existing and future products to create product proposals with market, customer, pricing, competitor, technology assumptions and risks resulting in the new product decision.
- Forecast product volume and revenue through determination of product value, market and opportunity size, and identifying lead customers.
- Maintain opportunity pipeline to provide management with product family revenue outlook.
- Formulate product value proposition and introduction strategies, including, generating sales collateral and providing product consultation supporting the targeted market segment and customer base in order to drive product adoption.
- Provide consultation to development teams in the design and development stages of products.
Requirements:
This position requires a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience as an electrical engineer supporting automotive power management products or, alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as an electrical engineer supporting automotive power management products.
Specific skills/other requirements –
Must also possess the following:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in automotive power management IC (buck converters, boost converters, buck-boost converters, camera and radar power management ICs) for automotive cameras, radars, domain controllers, and central computing control unit systems;
- DE developing new designs with key automotive customers involving buck converters, boost converters, buck-boost converters, camera and radar power management Integrated Circuits (“IC”);
- DE gathering technical requirements for new product definitions, defining product definitions to meet future customer needs in collaboration with Customer development teams; and
- DE providing product selection, product consultation and product technical support in power management IC, and semiconductor requirements, and applications.

Salary: $185,503.95 - $217,465.00/year
