Job description:

The selected candidate for this role will:

  • Build an SDK that guides our customers from project start to mass production using Qorvo IoT silicon and software.
  • Contribute by writing embedded SW (firmware) for these devices, ranging from small stand-alone examples to full-featured applications.
  • Make the final deliverable a pleasant experience by including evaluation tools and getting started documentation that gets the best out of our evaluation kits.
  • Cooperate with engineering teams of corporate OEMs to develop IoT products from prototyping through to mass production.
  • Validate that the end-product meets the team’s quality standards prior to releasing to customers

 

Additionally, the efforts made in this role are highly visible in the product and make the difference for our customers. Our customers include major US and EU operators, consumer electronics manufacturers and other worldwide recognized technology leaders. 

 

As part of the Development Kit SW team, the selected candidate will:

 

  • Define and build reference applications for our Ultra-wideband, Matter, Thread, Zigbee and Bluetooth Low Energy IoT silicon.
  • Bundle these reference applications in Software Development Kits to be used by the engineering departments of Qorvo’s customers which build a consumer or industry product.
  • Focus on the embedded SW, either running on an RTOS or in a Linux operating system.
  • Work on integrating firmware, low-level drivers and building reference applications in a customer-oriented SDK.
  • Collaborate in a motivated and experienced SCRUM team, as part of the Agile Release Train to deliver high quality, customer oriented, solutions.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experienced Embedded SW engineer (>5 year), with solid, hands-on experience in embedded C programming
  • Experience with different microcontroller platforms (ARM Cortex-M), tools (Keil, IAR, GCC, make) and embedded Linux (kernel driver development, userspace applications in C)
  • Experience in developing with quality in mind, design modular code with intuitive and well documented APIs.
  • Problem solver, exhibits a natural tendency to anticipate on customer needs
  • Stands by the advantages of using SCRUM (for the team) and SAFe (for the organization)
  • Team player, reaching out when stuck, sharing knowledge to grow the full team
  • Familiar with working in a customer-oriented environment. Open to communication with customers, both from a technical sales perspective as a customer support perspective
  • Willing to travel worldwide occasionally (max. 10%)
  • Familiar with developing supported by continuous integration and helps attain continuous deployment
  • Excellent knowledge of English, to write customer facing user manuals and application notes
  • Experience with standards like Ultra-wideband (FiRa and CCC), Matter, ZigBee, Bluetooth Low Energy, Thread is an asset
