Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager who will oversee general ledger (GL) accounting, bank reconciliations, monthly closing processes, cost accounting, revenue recognition and financial forecasting. The role demands a high degree of accuracy, leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Management: Manage the company's general ledger, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate accounting records.
- Bank Reconciliation: Conduct and oversee bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are properly recorded, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Monthly Closing: Lead the monthly closing process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and deadlines are met. Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements for management review.
- Cost Accounting: Manage cost accounting processes, including cost analysis, product costing, and variance analysis, to support operational efficiency.
- Financial Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop financial forecasts, budgets, and financial models. Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic planning.
- ERP System Management: Utilize ERP systems to maintain accounting records and financial data. Ensure accurate data entry and integration with other business systems.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring consistent accounting practices. Conduct performance evaluations and support team development.
- Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policies, and relevant regulations. Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
- Communication: Communicate financial information effectively to senior management and other stakeholders, providing analysis and recommendations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger accounting, monthly closings, and financial analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems, such as Expendable, SAP, with the ability to navigate and extract data.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and other accounting software tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
