ADI’s Digital Business Unit is seeking a Senior Design & Verification Engineer to join the R&D team and enable the next generation of intelligent RF/wireless communication products. As a Wireless Communication system Design & Verification Engineer you will contribute to the design verification of various wireless communication systems.
- Define and Design functional block with RTL.
- Define and execute verification strategies at the system or full-chip level.
- Collaborate with system architects, RTL designers, FPGA, and emulation engineers.
- Create and manage Analog Mixed-Signal (AMS) regressions.
- Ensure verification requirements and coverage are met for each project.
As a Senior Digital Design & Verification Engineer, you will lead the design and verification of RF/wireless design for ADI’s medical, energy, and embedded security ICs. You will have the opportunity to be involved in all the significant phases of RF SOC product development cycles, including product definition, digital baseband design and RF IC design. A successful candidate must be an expert on RTL design, verification, communication systems, DSP concepts, wireless digital baseband, and the full silicon and production development flow. Candidate must have experience in crafting RTL design, test plans, developing SystemVerilog/Verilog testbenches and tests, and debugging of test failures and issues. You will also contribute to developing and improving the verification methodologies used by the team. This position will also help the business team to support customers on critical issues and win new customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- MSEE degree with 4+ years of industry digital design/verification experience for wireless system or Ph.D. degree in relevant field.
- Strong fixed-point knowledge and extensive experience with bit-true cycle-accurate verifications.
- Understanding of Channel Coding such as Viterbi, BCH, LDPC
- Understanding of Demodulation such as FFT, CFO, Channel Estimation, Equalization, Filters.
- Solid understanding of digital hardware design and Verilog/VHDL.
- A detailed understanding and experience of the current verification strategies required for sophisticated wireless communication SoC development.
- Good knowledge of test plan creation and tracking.
- Experience with Arm-based designs and/or ARM System Architectures.
- Experience with System Verilog and verification methodologies – UVM/OVM/e.
- Formal verification techniques
- Clock domain crossing verification.
- Low-level programming experience including C and Assembler.
- Experience with Perl, Python or other scripting language.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with chip top-level Digital-Mixed Signal (DMS) and Analog/Mixed Signal (AMS) Verification using verification methodologies and tools such as Cadence Xcelium, Cadence Spectre, and Simvision
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented programming concepts.
- Power aware verification
- Porting peripheral driver software
- Development and deployment of complex Arm SoCs on multiple Emulation platforms as well as direct hands-on test bench development.
- Some background/understanding in DSP and Communication Theory.
- Good understanding of wireless system, features, performance and their trade-off.
- Good understanding of CMOS Transceiver architectures for modern communication systems.
