What You’ll Do
Depending on your Design Engineer position, your focus can vary in responsibilities between design of analog/mixed-signal circuits, digital design, digital verification, and physical implementation.
Who You Are
You are an energetic and ambitious new college graduate. You are an innovator, builder, and tinkerer with a curious mind and a drive to succeed. You want to work with a global team of technology enthusiasts and design pioneers at an established and trusted semiconductor company.
You will need a combination some (not all) of the qualifications listed below:
- Degree: A technology-related bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree and no more than 1 to 3 years of work experience.
- Skills:
- Analog/RF Design Engineer:
- Knowledge of complex AC/DC analysis (poles, zeros, compensation)
- Basic signal analysis knowledge (small signal/linear, convolution, Fourier Transform)
- Basic parasitic analysis knowledge (capacitance, resistance, power grid)
- Basic MOS device modeling skills
- Basic knowledge of CMOS fabrication processes
- Basic knowledge of MOS transistors and analog/digital circuit design
- Building blocks (e.g., OPAMP, gm-C filters, switch capacitors, ADC, and DAC, state-machines, bus interfaces)
- Phase detectors, ring oscillators, LC-VCOs, PLLs, DSPs, microcontrollers, memories
- Verification skills (e.g., circuit simulation)
- Design implementation skills (e.g., custom layout)
- Digital design and Verification engineer:
- Basic knowledge of CMOS fabrication processes
- Basic knowledge of digital design and design flows
- Basic knowledge of CPU and hardware design
- Basic knowledge of FPGA
- Basic knowledge of digital design for test
- Basic knowledge of design languages (eq, Verilog, VHDL, System C, RNM, etc)
- Verification skills (e.g., logic simulation, logic verification, static timing analysis, MATLAB analysis)
- Design implementation skills (e.g., synthesis, power analysis)
- Physical Implementation engineer:
- Basic knowledge of digital design and design flows
- Basic knowledge of digital design for test
- Basic knowledge of CMOS fabrication processes
- Basic parasitic analysis knowledge (capacitance, resistance, power grid)
- Design implementation skills (e.g., synthesis, PNR, power analysis, static timing analysis, DRC/LVS/Tape-out)
- Extracurricular activities within organizations a plus
The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $76,300 - $175,500 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
