Meet the Team
As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer, you will be working side by side with a global team of Software Development, QA, and Infrastructure Engineers to drive reliability, efficiency, and scalability into internal and external facing systems. These systems include: complex embedded software build processes, open source cloud native software services, and internally developed engineering enablement services. This will be a new specialization within Silicon Labs with a high degree of autonomy, and ample opportunity to make significant impacts, as such the role requires someone with a self-starting mindset ready to build and grow our SRE practice and treat operations as if it’s a software problem.
Responsibilities
Drive stability of infrastructure and processes by setting SLO, monitoring SLI and introducing change to drive to target.
Eliminate waste, reduce cycle times and improve utilization of systems and processes via performance tuning, and (re)architecture.
Improve and extend existing automation and automate remaining legacy workflows.
Provide advanced troubleshooting expertise across domains: networking, system configuration, API performance, etc.
Participate in on call / follow the sun rotations with Infrastructure and Software Development Engineers
Skills You Will Need
Minimum Qualifications:
10+ years in SRE, Software Development, DevOps or related field.
Proficiency in Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk). Grafana’s LGTM stack preferred.
Proficiency with container, orchestration, cloud native automation technologies (Kubernetes, Nomad, Consul, Vault). Hashistack preferred.
Experience with a cloud computing platform and Infrastructure as code (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Terraform, Cloud Formation). AWS, Terraform preferred.
Proficiency in major programming languages (Java, C#, C, Go, Python, JavaScript). (C or C++ or Java) and Python preferred.
Proficiency in Linux and Windows system administration and shell scripting.
Expertise in source control systems and source management processes.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $133,500 - $247,928 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
